Holiday Hoopla

Join us for our fifth annual Holiday Hoopla! It is like stepping on to the set of a Hallmark movie, except you are in the heart of Morgantown, KY. Come enjoy the festivities with us on November 22, 2025 from 4-8PM. There will be carnival rides, free goodies, Santa Claus, holiday lights, holiday music, and a special surprise from Mayor Billy Phelps.

The Summer Social

The Summer Social is a NEW yearly event that takes place at Charles Black City Park in Morgantown, KY. We offer live music entertainment, food vendors, space to dance, and of course our new park for the kids to enjoy. It will be free entry for the whole family, so bring your favorite chair and join us this summer!

Green River Museum

The Green River Museum is dedicated to the preservation of Butler County, Kentucky’s history and folklife. Special emphasis is placed on the Green River, which helped to develop and to sustain the region for centuries.

Green River Catfish Festival

The Green River Catfish Festival is a yearly event that takes place around the 4th of July. The festival is held at the Fairgrounds on Old River Road in Morgantown, KY. We offer a variety of entertainment, from carnival rides and games to pageants, square dancing and concerts.

We also have our annual fishing tournament, in which anglers fish for tagged catfish in the Green River for cash prizes. Our firework display on the 4th of July is nothing short of breath taking. Come enjoy yourself with friends and family at this years  annual festival!

Harvest on the Square Festival

This event is held in the fall on the courthouse square of Morgantown if whether permits. It usually hosts around 70 vendors and includes different activities for kids. In the past there have been inflatables, a pumpkin carving contest, and a Halloween costume contest. If the weather is not suitable for having an outside event, we will either find an alternate location or postpone to a later date.
